Fellow humans,
Charlie Kirk died for me yesterday, and if you share his beliefs, then he died for you too. In John 15:13, Jesus Christ said, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” Charlie was the type of man who had the courage to say aloud what those around him are only thinking.
His movement, which is called Turning Point, grew like wildfire over the years because his message resonates with people. I think he understood that many Americans are fed up with a big chunk of liberal American culture, but prefer to mind their own business, rather than being confrontational and causing a scene.
Charlie was no stranger to confrontation. He ruffled so many feathers with his raw, truthful, and informed style of debate, that a sniper shot him in the neck from a distance at Utah Valley University, killing him shortly after.
Charlie was unarmed, sitting in a chair in front of a large crowd, and calmly educating young Americans about topics that “higher education” institutions refuse to teach, and traditional media companies refuse to cover. His final words were “gang violence” before the bullet struck his carotid artery.
He had no idea that the shot was coming while doing what he loved, and he was clearly at peace when he was hit. I don’t believe his death was painful in the slightest, which leads me to believe that this is God’s way of rewarding Charlie for his life’s work. I also believe that his rewards are only beginning.
I’m not trying to be insensitive towards his wife and two children when I talk like this, but his wife Erika is also a follower of Jesus, so I’m almost certain that she would not only understand, but agree with what I’m saying.
Actually, Charlie wasn’t unarmed. Because of his relentless drive as a self-educator (Charlie never attended college), and his bold faith in Jesus Christ, Charlie was armed with one of the most dangerous weapons of all-time: truth.
Jesus never lied, yet he was sentenced to death, being “found guilty” of lying about being God. For the record, Jesus is God! If God Himself was called a liar by worldly people, then flawed humans who follow God have absolutely no chance of escaping the label of “liar.”
Jesus said, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” John 14:16-17 (ESV)
People of the world cannot see truth, because they don’t see God. They don’t see God because they don’t know God. They don’t know God because they choose not to believe that Jesus Christ is God. If you want to see truth, then you have to believe that Jesus Christ is God. Otherwise, you will continue believing in lies.
Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our fight is not with flesh and blood, but rather with the unseen kingdom of darkness, which is essentially the unclean spirits of the spiritual realm. In other words, our fight is not against the sniper or anybody who celebrates the death of Charlie Kirk.
Our fight is against Lucifer and all the other angels that rebelled against God, and were thrown from Heaven. They rule the earth now. They influence us to carry out their dirty work. They’ve beaten me in plenty of battles over the years, but they will not beat me in the war, because Jesus Christ forever owns my soul.
If you don’t believe this, it’s because you’re not looking below the surface, but someday you will see. Whether you end up looking voluntarily or because you have no other option, is up to you. Every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and every knee shall bow to Jesus Christ. It’s literally inevitable.
Denying Jesus Christ is a choice that comes with the worst type of eternal consequences. Although Charlie was shot in the neck in front of the whole world like a worthless animal, he’s now in the presence of the most loving and precious God you could ever imagine, living like a king for eternity.
For those who think that Charlie’s movement dies with him, you’re very badly mistaken. The enemy continues to learn the hard way that trying to kill God and God’s children is a very stupid mistake. Killing Jesus Christ sparked a 2,000+ year revolution that by definition, makes the world a better place.
Hindsight is 20-20. People of the world will soon realize that killing Charlie Kirk was a gargantuan mistake. For those who absolutely hate everything I’m saying, and probably hate me with a passion for saying these things, you can do whatever you want with your free will, but be aware that we can too.
Charlie Kirk’s death just emboldened millions upon millions of the most dangerous people that the world has ever encountered. People with access to unlimited power in Jesus Christ, and are willing to die for our cause.
To be very clear, I’m not advocating for more violence. Real Christians are held to higher standards, as Charlie Kirk has demonstrated over and over. We operate from a position of truth and love, because Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. We follow Him to an early grave, if that’s our calling.
In some sense, Charlie Kirk’s calling is no different than ours. He exercised his freedom of speech to not only tell the truth about the world, but also tell the truth about Jesus Christ. If you believe that Jesus Christ is God, then you have the same exact calling, regardless of how many people you reach.
Until next time,
Salvatore Norge
Great article man! This was just awful. But I loved your last paragraph. Truth and fellowship go hand in hand. That applies to us as Americans and believers.
